I walked into the food industry as a 30 something small business owner turned pastry cook. Two kitchens and three and a half years later, I married a chef and we relocated from Chicago to Des Moines, Iowa – just in time for COVID, quarantine and social unrest. I am on the other side of eating my emotions, and I am using all things food to help me find my way in a new city, in a new marriage, and in the “new normal”. Fortunately, I need not look far for inspiration and support. I have amazingly talented, resourceful and generous friends and family. With a little effort and the right introductions, we – new friend- will be that much closer to better food and better food stories.
